Maailmanluokan tutkimusta
Terveyskampus Turun tutkimusyhteistyön tavoitteena on tukea alueen strategisten kärkialojen kehitystä ja vahvistaa alueen asemaa kansainvälisessä kilpailussa sekä vahvistaa terveyskampustoimijoiden kansallista ja kansainvälistä yhteistyötä.
Lisäksi pyritään kasvattamaan ulkopuolisen tutkimusrahoituksen määrää ja vahvistamaan tutkitun tiedon vaikuttavuutta ehkäisevässä, diagnostisessa ja hoitavassa terveydenhuollossa, terveyspalvelujärjestelmän kehittämisessä sekä päätöksenteossa kansallisesti ja kansainvälisesti.
Terveyskampus Turun toimenpiteet tutkimusyhteistyön edistämiseksi ovat:
• Aktiivinen yhteistyö strategisesti valittujen kansallisten ja kansainvälisten tutkimuslaitosten, innovaatioklustereiden ja yritysten kanssa
• Yritysten tutkimustarpeiden selvittäminen biolääketieteen, terveysteknologian ja terveydenhuollon aloilla
• Tutkimuksen tukipalvelujen, toimintatapojen ja rakenteiden synergian lisääminen
• Tutkijakoulutus ja tutkijan uran tukeminen
• Tutkimusrahoituksen hakemisen kyvykkyyden lisääminen
• Tutkimusviestintä ja tiedekasvatus
• Kestävän kehityksen tutkimus ja kestävien tutkimusmenetelmien edistäminen

The Wellbeing services county of Southwest Finland is part of a Nordic network of leading health researchers. Strategic cooperation with the University of Turku benefits the entire economic region. The research carried out by the University Hospital produces top-level expertise that is valued by patients, staff, researchers and regional authorities alike.
University of Turku
Research at the University of Turku is multidisciplinary and international. The bioscience success stories are born out of strong research in the fields of cancer research, molecular biosciences, and cardiovascular and metabolic diseases research. At the Faculty of Medicine, clinical and basic research are seamlessly combined bringing new results from research laboratories and clinical studies to patient treatment. The host defence and autoimmune disease research is internationally at the top of the field, as is the development of diagnostics and imaging methods.
Åbo Akademi
Research at Åbo Akademi is multifaceted and interdisciplinary. In co-operation with the University of Turku, we have established a joint focal area in drug development and diagnostics. One of Åbo Akademi University’s most important research areas is biomedical imaging. Other key areas include drug pre-formulation and diagnostics, with a focus on cancer, organic chemistry and biochemistry, structural bioinformatics, cellular and molecular biology and materials research.
